Swim & Dive Named CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The BGSU swimming & diving team has accomplished a tremendous feat.

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Since his hiring in April 2024, BGSU swimming & diving head coach Tanner Barton has emphasized strong academics with his team.

His message was heard clearly by the squad, as the Falcons have earned College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Fall Scholar All-America Team honors for the 15th year in a row.

Bowling Green earned a team grade point average of 3.77 last semester, which is the highest it has been for a fall semester since at least 2010 (when records go back).

The 3.77 GPA is the highest in the MAC and tied for the seventh best in Division I.

The CSCAA selected 781 teams from 459 institutions for the Scholar All-America Team for the Fall 2024 semester. These teams, comprising 19,209 student-athletes, were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements. To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) above 3.0 during the Fall 2024 semester. Of the selected teams, an impressive 654 recorded a GPA of 3.30 or higher, qualifying them for the Intercollegiate Coach Association Coalition All-Sport Academic Standings.

"I'm extremely proud of how our ladies embody being true scholar-athletes," head coach Tanner Barton said. "These rankings are extraordinary, and they underscore how this program operates. We will continue to prioritize academic success in the spring semester and beyond."
