Tennis Takes First Match of Pennsylvania Road Trip
SLIPPERY ROCK, Penn. -- The BGSU tennis team began its Pennsylvania road trip with a win on Saturday, Oct. 11, as they defeated Slippery Rock University by a score of 6-1. The Falcons took all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, and nearly swept the singles matches, winning five out of six.
"Another great day for Falcon tennis. The level of play, this fall season, has dramatically improved. The girls are fighting for each other and we are looking really good so far." said coach Bonnell.

With the event being an individuals tournament, competitors from each team in the MAC will play in both a singles tournament and a doubles tournament, without contributing towards a team score.

Teams competing in the tournament were Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Oakland, Toledo, and Youngstown State. The tournament was not scored by team points, but rather each competitor's individual records. Players at the tournament each competed in three rounds of singles matches, and three rounds of doubles matches. Players were broken up into groups for singles matches and the players with the best record in each group were crowned group winners.
