Tia Clemens Earns ITA Summer Series Championship

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- On Sunday, June 22nd, Tia Clemens of the Bowling Green State University Tennis team won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Summer Series: Points Race Series hosted by Belmont University. The ITA hosts a series of weekly tennis tournaments for NCAA and NAIA tennis players on college campuses across the country, with the top performers qualifying for the ITA Summer National Championships hosted by the University of Memphis on August 9th-12th.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- On Sunday, June 22, rising junior Tia Clemens won the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Summer Series: Points Race Series hosted by Belmont University. The ITA hosts a series of weekly tennis tournaments for NCAA and NAIA tennis players on college campuses across the country, with the top performers qualifying for the ITA Summer National Championships hosted by the University of Memphis on August 9-12. 

Clemens claimed the top spot out of a pool of 32 competitors, winning six consecutive matches over the course of the weekend.

The Cleveland, Ohio native has been a standout performer on the BGSU tennis team. As a sophomore this past season, she won 17 matches, including 11 as the No. 1 singles player. Clemens earned victories in 18 matches as a freshman, which included 12 in singles play.
