Falcon Tennis Set for Friday Afternoon Match Against UNOH
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Falcons will return home for a Friday afternoon match against the University of Northwestern Ohio Racers. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 pm in Perrysburg, Ohio. BGSU will be hosting the Racers for the first time since in program history.
Last Time Out
Last weekend, the Orange and Brown went 1-1 on the road with a win against Valparaiso Beacons. Sophomore Qianyu Liu went undefeated in singles with two wins at No. 3 singles. Against the Beacons, the Falcons started off winning the doubles point, which they have done in all matches so far this spring except for two. Liu and Konstantina Adamopoulou took home No. 2 doubles and Lucia Gaio and Leticia Fonseca won No. 3 doubles both by the score of 7-5. In singles, the Falcons took points in the No. 2-6 spots.
Opponent Outlook: UNOH
The Racers are currently 4-1 on the season. The Racers and Falcons have two mutual opponents in the Findlay Oilers and Lourdes. Both programs recorded a loss to Findlay and a win against Lourdes by the same score. For the Racers, the Falcons will be the first Division I opponent.
Series History: UNOH
The Falcons and Racers will be meeting for the 2nd time in program history. The first and only time these two programs met was a season ago in Lima, Ohio and UNOH came away with a close 4-3 victory. Friday' afternoon will be the first time BGSU will host the Racers.
