BGSU Tennis Set for Two Home MAC Matches
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green Tennis (9-9, MAC 0-5) team will return home for two matches against MAC opponents. The Falcons will host the NIU Huskies (18-4, MAC 4-1) on April 4th at 1pm at Perrysburg Tennis Center and will finish the second half of the Battle of I-75 against Toledo (9-6, MAC 2-3) on April 6th at 1pm at Perrysburg Tennis Center.
Opponent Outlook: NIU
The Huskies are currently 18-4 on the season with a 4-1 record in conference play in the MAC. NIU is currently on a four-match win streak with three of those coming against MAC opponents. The Huskies sole MAC loss came in a 5-2 defeat to Ball State at the end of March. Friday afternoon's match will mark the first and only time the Falcons will see the Huskies this season. Northern Illinois University Lucia Yecora earned her second Mid-American Conference Singles Player of the Week honor of the season – and the school record seventh for the Huskies as announced on Monday after winning both of her MAC singles matches over the weekend.
Series History: NIU
The Falcons currently hold a 18-11 record against the Huskies and an 11-5 conference record. When playing at home, BGSU hold a 7-4 record. The Orange and Brown will be looking for their first win against the Huskies since March 20, 2022.
Opponent Outlook: Toledo
The Rockets are currently 9-6 overall and own a 2-3 conference record including a win against Bowling Green. Toledo is win-less since their last meeting against Bowling Green on March 23.
Series History: Toledo
The Falcons currently hold a 20-19 record against the Rockets. At home, BGSU holds a 10-9 record against Toledo. The Falcons will be looking for their first win in five tries and their first win at home against Toledo since April 7, 2019, when the Falcons won 4-3.
