Marcus Myers Promoted to Women's Track & Field Associate Head Coach

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The BGSU Women's Track & Field program has promoted assistant coach Marcus Myers to associate head coach. He will continue to oversee the throws program.

This promotion comes as no surprise. Since Myers' addition, the Falcons' throwers have consistently ranked among the conference's best.

Since joining BGSU in 2022, Myers has elevated the throws group into a conference powerhouse. He has guided athletes to multiple school-record performances and podium finishes at the MAC Championships.

"From day one Marcus has brought the belief in this program and his energy is as big as his frame," BGSU Head Track & Field Coach Lou Snelling said, "He's actively pursued more responsibility in managing our program and now oversees pivotal elements of BG XC/TF.  His overall contributions were clutch in sweeping MAC Indoor and Outdoor track team titles this year."

Last season, he guided graduate transfer Trista Fintel to first team All-MAC honors in both indoor and outdoor. For indoors, she took home the MAC title in the weight throw. In the outdoor season, Fintel was named MAC Most Outstanding Field Performer, winning hammer throw and shot put at the conference championships.

The Falcons swept team conference titles for the first time in program history.

In 2023-2024, Myers coached Zaresha Neal to the MAC indoor shot put title and led throwers to a program-record three outdoor MAC titles. The Falcons placed fourth as a team, their best finish since 1998 at the time.

Before BGSU, Myers spent four seasons at Northwood University. He produced three NCAA Division II first-team All-Americans throwers, and the program placed third at the GLIAC Indoor Championships for three consecutive seasons.

Placing as runner-up in his final season, Myers and his staff were named GLIAC Indoor Coaching Staff of the Year in 2022.
