New Year Rings in Five Top 10 Marks in Program History at Falcon Early Bird Open

FINAL RESULTS BOWLING GREEN, Ohio –

It is a new year with new company on the BGSU track & field program top 10 lists.

At the Falcon Early Bird Open at Perry Fieldhouse running/throwing against Ohio and Dayton, Bowling Green competitors earned top 10 program marks five times in four different events.

The mile boded two new times, as Kylee Cubbison set a new PR with a 4:52.36 which was good for the fourth-fastest mark in BGSU history. Running in her first indoor collegiate race, Reese Reaman's 4:56.32 marked the ninth-best in program history after last competing at NCAA Regionals in cross country in November.

Just four events later, the freshman won the 800m and ran a 2:13.68, which marked the program's sixth-fastest mark and best since Lyndi Springer in 2008 (2:13.95).

"Her jam is definitely on the track," head coach Lou Snelling said. "Cross country wise, she took some really good steps this year as did most of the [distance] team. I think we're seeing some of that fitness that was built over the summer and the fall happen here today."

In the sprints, Alexis Parchman came away victorious in the 60m in 7.61 seconds that just cracked the BGSU top 10 all-time. The same was said about Trista Fintel in the shot put, as she ran away from the competition with a throw of 15.17m, about a meter and a half better than her second-place teammate Lane Anderson.

The Falcons went 1-2-3 in the 60m hurdles and the 200m. DaMya Barker (8.71), Morgan Patterson (8.89) and Christabelle Obi (9.11) led the way in the hurdles, while Parchman (25.37), Reagan Campbell (25.78) and Bianca Staples (25.90) paced in the latter.

Rachael Withrow (10:03.11) won the 3,000m while Regina Rose (10:20.27) came in third. Both ran PRs in the event. Kiersten Franklin won the 300m (39.78) and finished runner-up in the 60m (7.63).

"We saw good things in all the different groups," Snelling said. "There's the big performances that stand out, but there were a lot of really foundational performances as well."
