ALLENDALE, Mich. -- For the third time in a 24-hour span, the BGSU track & field squad broke a program record.

After Reese Reaman and Kylee Cubbison set the 800m and mile records, respectively, during the Friday session of the GVSU Big Meet at the Kelly Family Sports Center, the distance medley relay (DMR) squad consisting of Reaman, Kiersten Franklin, Rachael Hoover and Cubbison broke the 26-year-old program mark on Saturday with a mark of 11:21.85 placing third overall.

The previous best set in 1999 was 11:25.56 with Christine Thompson, Tracy Hill, Libby Mitchell and Hanane Sabri. Reaman, who previously held the mile record before Cubbison broke it on Friday, bested Sabri's mark that was set in the same year.

The DMR is an indoor relay event where each competitor runs a different distance in the 4,000 meter race. The leadoff leg consists of 1,200 meters (Reaman), the second 400 (Franklin), the third 800 (Hoover) while the anchor leg goes the final 1,600 meters (Cubbison).
