Falcons Capture Three Titles at We Fly Challenge
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University track & field squad asserted their collective will in Muncie, posting a total of three first-place finishes at the We Fly Challenge. The event, hosted by Ball State University, took place at the Briner Sports Complex.
Trista Fintel won the hammer throw while finishing second in the discus at the meet, and Katherine Mendenhall captured the high jump title.
BGSU dominated in the shot put, with three of the top-four performers. Lane Anderson finished first, while Sierra Brinson was second and Jenna Lucas fourth.
The Falcons did exceedingly well in the discus, with two of the top-three throws, three of the top five and five of the top nine. In addition to Fintel's second-place results, Brinson was third, Grace Bradtmueller fifth, Emma Hoffman seventh and Kami Baker ninth.
Baker was third in the hammer, giving the Falcons two-thirds of the top-three performers in that event.
BGSU will send competitors to three different events next week, including the Hillsdale Mid-Week Multi Meet on Wednesday and Thursday (April 16-17; Hillsdale, Mich.), the Bryan Clay Invitational from Wednesday through Friday (April 16-18; Azusa, Calif.) and the Virginia Challenge next weekend (April 18-19; Charlottesville, Va.).
