BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Trista Fintel has earned her first career MAC Field Athlete of the Week honor. She becomes the first Falcon since Zaresha Neal on February 22, 2023 to receive the award during an indoor season.

At the Falcon Early Bird Open competing against Ohio and Dayton, the graduate student won the shot put with a mark of 15.17m, which is the tenth-best throw in BGSU history. That throw is tops in the MAC, top 10 in the Great Lakes Region and top 40 in the country so far this season. Fintel also won the weight throw with a toss of 17.66m, which is third best in the MAC and top 20 in the region.

Fintel is a Findlay transfer who is a Division II national champion in the indoor shot put. She is also a seven-time Division II All-American and an eight-time Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Field Athlete of the Week. BGSU throws coach Marcus Myers attended the same high school, Patrick Henry HS, as Fintel and shared the same throws coach, Matthew Furko.
