Lou Snelling Earns USTFCCCA Outdoor Track & Field Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year
NEW ORLEANS, La. -- After the greatest season in BGSU track & field history, Lou Snelling has earned Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) for the outdoor season.
In his 14th season at the helm of the Falcons, Snelling orchestrated the team's first MAC outdoor title since 1981 as they won four events and scored a program-record 130 points.
The MAC Coach of the Year qualified six individuals in seven different events for the NCAA East Regional as well.
He also oversaw a team that put six athletes on the All-MAC squad and broke or tied five school records throughout the season. They also had 21 performers earn top 10 marks in program history in 14 different events.
During the indoor season, Snelling led the Falcons to their first MAC championship since 1999 and also earned MAC Coach of the Year honors.

- BGSU Athletics Announces 2025 Hall of Fame ClassThe Bowling Green State University Athletics Department has announced the latest class of inductees into the Athletics Hall of Fame in the fall of 2025. The induction ceremony and related events will take place on the weekend of Oct. 10-11, 2025, with the induction ceremony set for Friday evening, Oct. 10, and the inductees recognized at the football game vs. Toledo on Saturday, Oct. 11.
