RALEIGH, N.C. – As the sun began to set at NC State's Paul H. Derr Track & Field Facility on Friday night, Kylee Cubbison made sure she made a shining impression.

Making her outdoor season debut at the highly competitive Raleigh Relays in upper 60's weather with little wind, the junior shattered a 39-year-old program record in the 5,000m by running the race in a time of 16:03.81 to place 23rd overall.

Cubbison broke BGSU Hall of Famer Sara Collas' previous record set in 1986 by about 23 seconds (16:26.20). She also bested her PR by 26 seconds.

The 5,000m performance marked the third program record the first-team All-MAC performer has broken this year, as she bested the mile and 3,000m records during the indoor season.

In a field flooded with Power 4 conference representation from around the country, Rachael Withrow (17:08.58) and Regina Rose (17:13.81) hit their personal bests in the event as well.

Freshmen Rachael Hoover and Reese Reaman were ready for their outdoor debuts as well. Competing against over 200 other runners in the 1,500m, the newcomers held their own as Hoover took 89th (4:28.17) and Reaman 92nd (4:28.60).

Both became top 10 performers in the event in program history.

Fresh off first-team All-MAC performances from the indoor season, the dynamic duo ran the 800m on Saturday. Hoover placed 33rd (2:08.78) and was the fifth best freshman in the field, while Reaman finished in 41st with a mark of 2:09.54.

Like the 1,500m, both achieved top 10 performer status in BGSU history in the 800m.
