FRIDAY RESULTS NOTRE DAME, Ind. –

On a rainy Friday afternoon at the University of Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational, the BGSU track & field squad found haven inside the Loftus Sports Center.

While the indoor track may not have had a Golden Dome on its rooftop, it was still a sight to see for the Falcons as Trista Fintel won the shot put and Rachael Withrow earned a top 10 time in program history in the 5,000m.

Fintel threw a season-best mark of 15.94m, which was 1.27m further than her second-place competition. In her four indoor meets she has competed in this season, the graduate student has won all four shot put events. The mark also improved her top 10 mark in program history to sixth all-time.

To cap off the evening, Withrow and Regina Rose ran the 5,000m. Withrow (17:16.03) finished 20th while Rose (17:22.08) came in 24th. Withrow's performance marked a new PR and the eighth-best time in BGSU history.

Earlier in the meet, Kiera Bonds and Christabelle Obi qualified for the prelims in their two respective events. Bonds qualified for the 60m dash prelims on Saturday with a 7.68 preliminary time that won the sixth and final heat and was the second best overall. Obi placed sixth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.03 to qualify her for the prelims the next day as well. Additionally, Katherine Mendenhall placed 10th (9.34) which was good enough to earn a place in the prelims.

Additionally, Bonds jumped 5.06 meters in the long jump to place 11th.

If they advance after the prelims, Bonds and Obi would qualify for the finals later Saturday afternoon that would air live on ESPN+.

Morgan Patterson ran the 60m dash for just the second time in her career and first since the YSU Invitational in 2023. Primarily a hurdler, the junior ran a time of 7.80 to finish 12th.

Mendenhall (9.34) and Jenna Lucas (10.03) also competed in the 60m hurdles.

As for the shot put, Lane Anderson (14.12m) placed sixth while Sierra Brinson (12.94m) and Sierra Podolan (11.11m) threw as well.
