BGSU Track and Field Shines at Clark Wood Invitational and GVSU Extra Weekend Meet
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bowling Green State University women's track and field team turned in a series of strong performances this weekend at the Clark Wood Invitational in Louisville, Ky., highlighted by numerous personal bests and top-10 finishes. In addition, a trio of Falcons competed at the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet in Allendale, Mich.
Friday Highlights
Friday's events at the Clark Wood Invitational featured standout performances across several disciplines.
- Sierra Brinson placed 10th in the shot put with a throw of 12.62 meters.
- Trista Fintel earned a second-place finish in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 16.08 meters.
- DaMya Barker finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.22.
- Morgan Patterson secured a seventh-place finish in the long jump, leaping 5.58 meters.
- Raegan Burkey ran a season-best 2:14.98 in the 800 meters, finishing in the top 15.
- In the shot put invite section, Lane Anderson finished eighth (13.11m), while Sierra Podolan placed 26th in the collegiate section (10.44m).
- Jenna Lucas set a new personal record in the javelin, finishing in the top 10 with a throw of 35.37 meters.
Saturday Highlights
Saturday's action brought even more success for the Falcons, including more personal records and podium finishes.
- Emma Hoffman placed second in the discus with a throw of 41.39 meters.
- Kiersten Franklin finished 10th overall in the 100 meters with a time of 11.65 seconds.
- The Falcons' 4x100 relay team earned a strong fourth-place finish.
- In the discus, Grace Bradtmueller placed third (41.19m), Karma Williams finished fourth (40.27m), and Ava Wojciechowski placed 19th.
- Christabelle Obi (14.67) and Sydney Burrs (14.77) each broke their personal records in the 100-meter hurdles. DaMya Barker placed 17th and Alexsia Davis 41st in the event.
- Ashley Kisor, Syerra Greber, Tyyetta Herman, and Raegan Burkey all competed in the 400 meters.
- In the 100 meters, Kiersten Franklin (10th) and Alexis Parchman (14th, 11.75 PR) finished in the top 15. Morgan Patterson (12.05 PR) and Erinae Coleman also competed in the event.
- In the triple jump, Bianca Staples (12.50m) and Sabrina Imes (12.45m) finished second and third, respectively.
- Sierra Brinson capped off the throwing events with a ninth-place finish in the invitational section of the discus (44.33m).
Falcons Compete at GVSU Extra Weekend Meet
Meanwhile, three Falcons traveled to Allendale, Michigan, to participate in the GVSU Extra Weekend Meet.
- Nora Ritting placed second in the 1500-meter open race with a time of 5:04.43.
- Emma Hellwege and Amelia Barilla competed in the 1500-meter invitational.
Next Up
The Falcons will continue their outdoor season Thurs., May 2 and Fri., May 3 at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
