- Apr 22:00 PMSAAM Teal Yarn StormJoin Gender Violence Prevention and Education Services on Wednesday, April 2nd from 2-4p near the Union Oval to install the 2025 SAAM Teal Yarn Storm! Help turn campus teal to bring awareness to sexual violence and show support to survivors. What is a yarn storm? Yarn storming is a type of graffiti or street art that employs colorful displays of knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber rather than paint or chalk. It is frequently used as a form of political resistance. Yarn storming has become synonymous with the current feminist movement due in part to the reclamation of the traditionally feminine arts of knitting and/or crocheting to partake in the traditionally masculine graffiti scene. To individuals with disabilities, please indicate if you need additional services, assistance, or modifications to fully participate in this event either by contacting the CWGE or Accessibility Services at access@bgsu.edu or 419-372-8495.
