Christmas is a season of lights, the lights we put up each year on the darkest days and the lights that sparkle in the sky above. The most famous of these lights is the one called the star of the wise men. The mystery of this star has fascinated people for centuries. What was this star? Was it a star or another natural light, or a miracle, or a legend? SECRET OF THE STAR explores the many theories of the wise men’s star and looks back in time to the origin of many customs and traditions of the season.Public stargazing will follow the show, weather permitting.$2 donation suggested for all planetarium shows.

Daily subject lessons are 50 minutes long. Students enrich their learning in mathematics, language arts, science, or social studies every weekday for two weeks.All ability levels welcome. Pre-Service instructors are trained to work with students at different levels to help them achieve success in the camp. These changes may be additional exercises in workbooks to a 10-minute recap video each day. Access to internet and an electronic device such as a laptop or Chromebook is needed.Camp CostThe first two camp sections a student registers for are FREE.Campers who desire to participate in 3 or more sections will have an add-on cost of $59 per section beyond the first two.Camp CratesAll campers will receive a box of materials for their section prior to the beginning of camp. Section materials are dependent on the camp subjects for which students are registered.Campers will also receive a camp t-shirt.
