Mayorga Leads Falcons at NCAA Zone Diving
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The BGSU divers wrapped up their season at NCAA Zone C Diving that took place inside Ohio State's McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
Natalia Mayorga led the way for the Falcons during the three-day meet, as she initially qualified for all three diving events: 1-meter, 3-meter and platform.
The sophomore's best performance came on the final day of competition, as she placed 17th in the platform final with a score of 427.45.
Mayorga snuck into the final by earning the last qualifying spot with an 18th-place finish in the prelims. She was also one of only two non-ACC, Big 10 or SEC divers to qualify for the final in platform diving while becoming BG's first-ever finals qualifier at Zone Diving in the event.
On the first day, Mayorga placed 24th in the 3-meter (262.00) which was the best of any MAC participant. Elise Snyder joined her in the event and came in 49th (186.95).
In the 1-meter, Mayorga took 33rd (216.80), Synder placed 37th (210.45) and Evie Long came in 44th (199.60), which took place on the day in between 3-meter and platform diving.
