BGSU Baseball Sees Five Named to CSC Academic All-District® Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Five members of the Bowling Green State University baseball team have been named to the 2023-24 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA). Jack Krause, Luke Krouse, Perry Miller, Tyler Ross and Isaiah Seidel all were named to the team. The five selections are the most for the Falcons in a single season in program history.

Jack Krause, Luke Krouse, Perry Miller, Tyler Ross and Isaiah Seidel all were named to the team. The five selections are the most for the Falcons in a single season in program history. 

Jack Krause, Senior, MBA
A native of Brighton, Mich., Krause worked to achieve a 3.88 graduate level GPA while pursuing his MBA at Bowling Green. Named Second-Team All-MAC and MAC All-Tournament, Krause played in 51 of BGSU's 53 games with 50 starts this season. He logged 53 runs scored, second on the team and tied for 10th all-time. He added 42 walks, placing him fourth all-time, and hit 11 home runs, second on the team. Krause also stole a team-leading and career-high 14 bases for the Falcons. 

Luke Krouse, Sophomore, Intervention Specialist
Coming to the Falcons from Antwerp, Ohio, Krouse has maintained a 4.00 GPA at Bowling Green thus far. Krouse made 17 appearances on the bump for BGSU with a pair of starts. He registered six scoreless appearances and an additional five appearances with just one earned run allowed. He finished the campaign with a 1-0 record, picking up a win against Toledo (April 30). He also tossed a season-high 4.2 scoreless innings against Western Michigan (May 4). 

Perry Miller, Sophomore, Finance
Arriving in Bowling Green from Avon Lake, Ohio, Miller has produced a 4.00 GPA at BGSU while majoring in finance. Miller made 17 appearances for the Falcons, including four starts. He posted a 5-1 record, finishing second on the team in wins and tied for seventh in the MAC. Three of his five wins came in consecutive appearances, logging them against Miami (OH) (March 10), Ball State (March 16) and Akron (March 23). Miller finished with a 4.94 ERA, fourth on the team. 

Tyler Ross, Senior, MBA
From Lewis Center, Ohio, Ross has kept a 4.00 GPA while working towards an MBA from Bowling Green. Ross played in 44 games with 43 starts for the Falcons during the season. He matched two single-game program records, being total bases (16) and triples (2). He finished the season with a career-best .331 batting average, placing third on the team and 14th in the MAC. He added a career-high 46 runs scored, third on the team and 15th in the conference. 

Isaiah Seidel, Senior, Architecture and Environmental Design
A native of Greenwich, Ohio, Seidel logged a 3.82 GPA at Bowling Green, studying Architecture and Environmental Design. Seidel made 18 appearances for the Falcons this season, all out of the bullpen. He tallied two wins and two saves while posting the third-best ERA on the team with a 4.50 mark. Seidel held opposing batters to a batting average of .246, the second-best mark on the team, and closed out the season with five consecutive scoreless innings and allowed just one run over his final 11.2 innings with 10 strikeouts. 

2023-24 Academic All-District®
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on July 2. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links near the top of this page.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
