Hallock, Falcons Sign Eight On National Signing Day
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University baseball team and Head Coach Kyle Hallock announced the signing of eight players to the team's Wednesday (Nov. 13) as part of National Signing Day. The Falcons will welcome two outfielders, two middle infielders, two left-handed pitchers, one right-handed pitcher and a catcher. All eight members of the class are ranked within the Top 50 Overall Players in their respective states/province.
"First of all, I would like to thank Associate Head Coach Matt Rembielak, Recruiting Coordinator Joey Gamache and Assistant Coach Joey Cooper for their teamwork in putting together another great recruiting class," said head coach Kyle Hallock. "Each member of this class fits the personality of BGSU Baseball in their own, specific way. We expect this group of young men to make an impact on our program from our very first workout next fall. As gifted as they are on the diamond, they are equally as hungry to continue the championship tradition of Falcon Baseball. Each of these student-athletes are players we feel that we can win with during their time at BGSU. We look forward to welcoming, developing and ultimately turning this group loose on college baseball for the back half of this decade"
Anthony Bonnetti - OF, R/R (Chesterfield, Mich. / Richmond)
A 6-foot-3 outfielder, Anthony Bonnetti arrives in Bowling Green from Chesterfield, Mich. No stranger to MAC baseball, Bonnetti's father, Jason, played baseball for Central Michigan. In 2024, Bonnetti played his way to numerous accolades, including First Team All-Region, First Team All-State and being named the 2024 Macomb County Division 2-5 Player of the Year. As for the 2023 season, Bonnetti helped the Blue Devils finish top eight in the state, being crowned District and Regional Champions. As for summer ball, Bonnetti played for the Motor City Hit Dogs, being named All-State by Perfect Game. Bonnetti plans to major in Business at Bowling Green. According to Prep Baseball Report, Bonnetti is the No. 2 ranked outfielder in Michigan.

"Anthony is a multi-sport athlete that has the physical gifts to make an impact on our program. He has a strong frame and can really run for his size. As one of the top outfielders in our area, he's arriving to BGSU highly accomplished with the production to match his potential"
Joey Buchanan - LHP, L/L (Milford, Ohio / Milford)
A 6-foot-1 left-handed pitcher, Joey Buchanan will join the Falcons from Milford, Ohio. Serving as a captain for the Eagles, Buchanan earned First Team All Conference recognition in both 2023 and 2024. As for summer ball, Buchanan played for Artillery and Five Star National. At Bowling Green, Buchanan plans to major in Aviation with the career goal of becoming a pilot. According to Prep Baseball Report, Buchanan is the No. 7 ranked left-handed pitcher in the state of Ohio.

"Joey is one of the top left-handed pitchers in the state of Ohio for this class. His clean delivery, big-time breaking ball and quick arm are what separates him from others. He will be coming to BGSU with competitiveness and big game experience. He will continue to develop in our program."
Andrew DiLodovico - C, R/R (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich. / Grosse Pointe South)
A 6-foot-1 catcher, Andrew DiLodovico captained the 2024 Grosse Pointe South team to a District Finals appearance. During the season, DiLodovico hit .475 with 12 doubles and an OPS of 1.311. He was named the team's MVP and earned Second Team All-State honors. As for the 2023 season, DiLodovico hit .349 while helping the Blue Devils to a Regionals title. As for summer ball, he played for Wow Factor in 2023, hitting .407 with an OPS of 1.095. As a Falcon, DiLodovico plans to major in Pre-Health Biology. According to Prep Baseball Report, DiLovodio is the No. 1 ranked catcher in the state of Michigan.

"Andrew has great feel for the game from the catching position. He is a complete player. From the first time we saw him, we knew he could catch and the development of his offense for Grosse Pointe South has allowed him to become one of the best catchers in the state of Michigan."
John Hughes - OF, R/R (Mississauga, Ontario / Applewood Heights)
A 5-foot-10 outfielder, John Hughes joins the Falcons from Mississauga, Ontario where he went to Applewood Heights Secondary School. With the Axemen, Hughes was a three-time High School Athlete of the Year and a member of Team Ontario in 2023. He also was a Canadian Futures Tournament Participant and a Canadian Premier Baseball League All-Star each season in 2022, 2023 and 2024. Hughes was also part of the Canadian National Championship team in 2023. According to Prep Baseball Report, Hughes is the No. 7 ranked outfielder in Ontario, Canada.

"John is a ball player with physical tools and presence. He stands out right away at just about every baseball field he shows up to. He squares up balls and plays the game the right way all the time. John is one of the best players in his class coming out of the Ontario province of Canada."
Jackson Miller - LHP, R/L (White Lake, Mich. / Lakeland)
A 6-foot-4 left-handed pitcher, Jackson Miller will arrive in Bowling Green from Lakeland High School. A native of White Lake, Michigan, Miller earned All-Region honors following the 2022 season as well as All-Conference in 2023. According to Prep Baseball Report, Miller is the No. 7 ranked left-handed pitcher in the state of Michigan.

"Jack is a long limbed, loose armed left-handed pitcher whose fastball and breaking ball have jumped off the charts the past year. He possesses the pitch-ability and mental makeup to help us win at this level. He has been pitching and winning big games for a few years and that experience will allow him to impact our staff."
Josh Mommers - INF, L/R (Rocky River, Ohio / Rocky River)
A 5-foot-11 middle infielder, Josh Mommers will be a second generation collegiate baseball player with his dad, Joe, playing for Tri-C. A Rocky River native, Mommers is coming off a 2024 season where he hit .300 with five doubles, four triples and two home runs. He added 27 walks drawn and 22 stolen bases to his stat line, resulting in a .495 on-base percentage and a .545 slugging percentage. At the conclusion of the season, he was named First Team All-Conference while leading Rocky River to a conference title. According to Prep Baseball Report, Mommers is the No. 1 ranked second baseman in the state of Ohio.

"Josh is a well-rounded, complete baseball player. He is another multi-sport athlete that understands how to compete between the lines. He has good hands both offensively and defensively. In games, he produces as well as anyone at his position in Ohio and that feature will be a great addition to our program."
Griffin Scheiderer - INF, L/R (Marysville, Ohio / Marysville)
A 5-foot-10 middle infielder, Griffin Scheiderer comes to the Falcons after four years at Marysville High School. Over his high school career for the Monarchs, Scheiderer has hit .337 with a .430 on-base percentage, logging 80 base hits with 23 earning extra bases. Additionally, Schreiderer was named First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District and a PBR All-State Honorable Mention. As for summer ball, Scheiderer played for Ohio Elite Ratcliff, hitting .388 with nine extra base hits. According to Prep Baseball Report, Scheiderer is the No. 9 ranked shortstop in the state of Ohio.

"Griffin has been highly productive since he was referred to us his freshman year of high school. He's a winning player that finds the barrel often and uses the opposite field very well with a mature approach. Defensively, he's automatic with the glove and is one of the best on both sides of the ball at his position in the state."
Joey Turner - RHP, R/R (St. Clair, Mich. / St. Clair)
A 5-foot-10 right-handed pitcher, will join his brother, fellow right-handed pitcher Jacob Turner, on the Falcon roster. With St. Clair, Turner earned a list of accolades including All-Conference. He was also selected for the PBR Junior Future Games, 2023 USA Baseball Team Midwest and 2024 Team Michigan. According to Prep Baseball Report, Turner is the No. 13 ranked right-handed pitcher in the state of Michigan.

"Joey Turner is a physical, strong-armed righty with advanced pitch-ability. He features a great change up that he can use in any count. He performed very well on the national stage at the Team USA complex against the best in the country as one of the top RHPs from Michigan. We look forward to his impact on our team next fall."

- Falcons’ Fifth Walk-Off Of The Season Secures No. 4 Seed In MAC TournamentBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team claimed their fifth walk-off win of the season on Friday (May 16) to top Northern Illinois in a 5-4 final. With the bases loaded, one out and a new NIU pitcher on the mound, Gavin Ganun found a gap in the outfield, scoring Alex Laird for the winning run to give BGSU the victory. The win moves the Falcons to 32-20 on the season while being 18-11 within the MAC, clinching the No. 4 seed in the MAC Tournament. BGSU will conclude the regular season on Saturday (May 17) against Northern Illinois before starting the MAC Tournament on Wednesday (May 21) against Toledo with a 6 p.m. start in Avon.
- Northern Illinois Outlasts Bowling Green In High-Scoring AffairBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team began the final series of the regular season on Thursday (May 15) against Northern Illinois at Steller Field. The Falcons and Huskies combined for 28 hits and produced 22 runs over the nine frames of baseball in an offensive battle. Bowling Green struck first with three runs in the first, but NIU followed with five in the second and didn't surrender the lead from there, claiming a 14-8 final score. With two games left in the regular season, BGSU moves to 31-20 on the season while being 17-11 within the MAC.
- Tuesday Baseball Against Toledo CanceledBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Due to current and anticipated weather and conditions, Tuesday's (May 13) baseball against Toledo has been canceled. No makeup date will be set for the contest. The Falcons are still scheduled to host Northern Illinois this weekend at Steller Field to conclude the regular season before shifting to the MAC Tournament next week in Avon, Ohio.
- Falcons Focus On Final Week Of Regular Season With Toledo, NIUBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team will head into the final week of the regular season with four games on the schedule. BGSU will begin the week at Toledo in a non-conference game, set for a 3 p.m. first pitch on Tuesday (May 13) at Scott Park. From there, the Falcons will transition back home to Steller Field, hosting Northern Illinois in the final regular season series. BGSU and NIU will play Thursday, Friday, Saturday (May 15-17) with Saturday's game marking Senior Day for the Orange and Brown. Tuesday and Saturday will be streamed on BCSN with a simulcast on ESPN+ while Thursday will be available to watch on YouTube. As always, home games at Steller Field will be free to attend. - Notre Dame Pulls Ahead In Pitcher’s Duel Sunday At StellerBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University baseball team wrapped up the weekend series against Notre Dame on Sunday (May 11), hosting the Fighting Irish at Steller Field. Notre Dame marked the first Power 5 opponent at Steller Field for BGSU since 2009. Bowling Green and Notre Dame went head-to-head in a pitcher's duel with Landon Willeman producing five strong innings in the start, not allowing a run while striking out five. Despite BGSU outhitting the Irish, Notre Dame pushed in front for the 4-0 final, cracking the scoring column in the sixth and seventh before Connar Penrod and Logan Bell shut the ND offense down again in the eighth and ninth. Bowling Green drops to 31-19 on the season with four games left in the regular season before the MAC Tournament begins on May 21.
- Notre Dame Tops Bowling Green In Saturday ShowdownSOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University baseball team took on Notre Dame in the second game of the weekend series on Saturday (May 10) in South Bend. A four-run first inning pushed the Fighting Irish in front. The Falcons answered with a run in the fourth, but it would be the only tally for BGSU in the game. Notre Dame added to their lead with runs in the fifth and seventh before capping off an 11-1 final in the eighth inning. The series between Bowling Green and Notre Dame will conclude on Sunday (May 11) with a 3 p.m. first pitch at Steller Field in Bowling Green.
