HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gunner Antillon was hit by a pitch to start the bottom half of the first with a Garrett Wright single putting two on for BGSU. Zack Horky was able to replicate Wright's hit, finding a hole in the right side of the infield, to score Antillon for the first run of the game.
  • Findlay answered with two runs in the second inning to move in front 2-1.
  • In the fourth inning, Brayden Curlis was hit by a pitch before Alex Laird joined him via walk. Antillon knocked a single into shallow center, scoring Curlis with Laird taking third to put runners at the corners with a 2-2 tie.
  • Wright kept it going, slipping a hit-and-run double into the right field Bermuda triangle down the line. With Antillon off from first on first movement from the pitcher, he scored along with Laird to push the Falcons to a 4-2 advantage.
  • In the top of the sixth, Findlay scored one to pull within a run, 4-3.
  • Bowling Green added insurance in the seventh. Gavin Ganun logged a single with a favorable hop resulting in the ball finding its way to the outfield to start the inning. A single to left for Cooper McKenzie put two on for BGSU, placing runners at the corners. A wild pitch on ball four to TJ Takats resulted in Ganun scoring for a 5-3 advantage.
  • In the eighth inning, Laird tripled into the left field corner, rolling into the BGSU bullpen for his first collegiate triple. A single through the right side of the infield by Antillon was enough to score Laird for a 6-3 score.
