For The First Time Since…
The Falcons will be seeking a few winning milestones in the home opener, which is the earliest home opener for Bowling Green in program history. Additionally, the Falcons will be looking to extend their streak of home opener wins to four, going back to 2022, which would be the longest home opener winning streak since BGSU won 10 straight from 2000-09. As for the season, the Falcons are in the midst of a four-game winning streak. Another would be the longest winning streak for the team since winning seven straight last year from April 10-20. Despite the 17-0 MAC start and 33 total wins on the year last season, the seven-game win streak remained the longest for the team of the season in 2024.

Scouting Tiffin
The Dragons are off to an 8-7 start to the season, coming off a Sunday (March 9) win over Rockhurst with a 6-5 final. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for Tiffin. The other wins for Tiffin have come against Saginaw Valley State, two over Concordia-St. Paul, two over West Virginia Wesleyan, Assumption University and Davis & Elkins College. The game against BGSU will be Tiffin's final test before starting conference play this weekend.

Series History

  • Bowling Green and Tiffin will be meeting for the seventh time in program history with BGSU holding the all-time advantage with a record of 5-1.
  • BGSU and TU last met in 2008 with the Falcons claiming a 16-8 victory at Steller Field on April 15.
  • Tiffin's lone win in the series came on March 10, 1985 in a 13-8 final that took place during both team's spring trips that season.

What To Watch For

  • The Falcons will be seeking a home opener victory for the fourth straight season, dating back to 2022. The streak would be the longest home opener streak for BGSU since winning 10 straight from 2000 until 2009.
  • Playing on March 11, this will mark the earliest home opener in program history. The Falcons have opened the season on March 13 multiple times, the previous earliest start, the most recent being in 2019 with a 6-3 win over Oakland.
  • Bowling Green is in the midst of winning four straight games for the second time this year. A win over Tiffin would give BGSU their longest streak of the season and longest since seven straight last year from April 10-20.
  • Garrett Wright enters the week inside the top 50 in the nation for Hit-By-Pitches per game, averaging 0.57 which is tied for 23rd in the nation and second in the MAC behind only Ball State's Alex Richter. Richter is averaging 0.69 and tied for sixth.
  • For the season, Wright has been hit by a pitch eight times, being tied for 24th in the nation and third in the MAC. For his career, Wright has been hit 29 times, tied for fourth in program history.

The 10th coach in program history, Hallock is the seventh to achieve 100 career wins with the Falcons. The next step up on the all-time list for BGSU wins would be passing Dick Young who recorded 184 wins at the helm of the Orange and Brown from 1960-71 followed by Ed Platzer's 202 wins (1983-90) and Warren Steller's 214 (1925, 1928-1959).
