Sophomore Brody Waters took an initial shot, and the rebound came out in front of the goaltender. Grant took a couple shots on the Michigan Tech goaltender before one went into the back of the net to make it 1-0.
  • Neither team scored a goal in the second period with the Falcons out shooting the Huskies 9 to 6 in the middle period.
  • Michigan Tech at 1:32 into the third period scored with a bouncing puck that squeaked into the back of the net for the equalizer. Both teams were unable to score for the remained of regulation, sending the game into a 20 minutes continuous 5 on 5 overtime game.
  • At 5:01 into the overtime, junior Quinn Emerson netted the golden goal to give the Falcons the game one win. Redshirt Senior Eric Parker passed the puck the length of the ice in the defensive end to sophomore Ben Doran. Doran and Emerson entered the zone on a 2 on 1 situation. Doran slid the puck across to Emerson, who shot it into the net.
