BGSU’s Christian Stoever Signs with AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University ice hockey alumnus Christian Stoever has signed an amateur tryout (ATO) contract with the AHL's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Stoever (Northville, Mich.) begins his professional career with the Penguins following the conclusion of his NCAA career. He appeared in 96 games for the Falcons, recording 35 wins.
The 2024-25 season was Stoever's best with the Falcons. He posted a .942 save percentage and a 1.76 goals-against average while going 12-3-3 between the pipes. His goals-against average ranked No. 4 nationally and No. 2 in the CCHA. His .750 winning percentage led the CCHA and ranked No. 7 in the nation. Stoever also ranked No. 2 in both the nation and the CCHA in save percentage.

Stoever is the second member of the 2025 team to sign a professional contract, joining Ryan O'Hara, who signed earlier with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits of the ECHL.
