By The Numbers

How It Happened

  • The Falcons opened the scoring at 8:53 in the first period as the two-man advantage was expiring. Freshman Maxwell Martin brought the puck into the zone and dropped it for sophomore Gustav Stjernberg. Stjernberg at the top of the right circle passed it across to junior Dalton Norris. Norris passed it to senior Ryan O'Hara. O'Hara and Stjernberg passed it back and forth and then Stjernberg fired a shot from the top of the slot to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Lakers scored the equalizer at 13:43 but the tie score would last for less than two minutes. Freshman Maxwell Martin scored his fifth goal of the season. Graduate Seth Fyten battled for the puck in the zone and left it for graduate Ethan Scardina. Scardina tapped the puck over to Martin. Martin dangled past a Laker defender and beat the goaltender blockerside to make it 2-1.
  • The Lakers scored two more goals in the end of the first period and in the beginning of the second to make it 3-2. LSSU added a power-play goal at 15:26 in the third.
  • With the goaltender pulled, the Orange and Brown got one back. Junior Brett Pfoh took the puck into the zone and cycled around the net. Pfoh passed it to Redshirt senior Eric Parker. Parker passed it right back on the top of the right circle. Graduate Ville Immonen in front of the net tipped it in past the goaltender.
