BGSU Hockey Tabbed to finish 5th in CCHA Preseason Polls
Bowling Green, Ohio- The Bowling Green hockey team was picked to finish fifth in the 2024-2025 Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) Coaches' and Media Polls released on Thursday (Sept. 12). This is the first preseason poll in Bowling Green's tenure under head coach Dennis Williams.
The Falcons earned 50 points in the poll voted on by the coaches within the league finishing behind St. Thomas (73), Bemidji State (69), Michigan Tech (69) and Minnesota State (59).
The CCHA Media Poll was comprised of 12 members of the local and national media, who cover the conference and its teams regularly. Points were awarded on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2 basis. BGSU earned 63 points behind Bemidji State (107), St. Thomas (107), Minnesota State (94), Michigan Tech (92).
The Orange and Brown officially begin their 2024-25 campaign on Friday Oct. 4 at Mercyhurst in Erie Pa., for a two-game series. The Falcons will make their Slater Family Ice Arena debut on Oct. 26 against Ohio State.
