By The Numbers

How It Happened

  • The Falcons opened the scoring at 12:12 into the game. Junior Quinn Emerson scored his second goal in as many games. Sophomore Ben Doran won the initial face-off back to senior Ryan O'Hara. O'Hara took the puck around the net and passed it to Emerson on the backside of the net to tap it in to take a 1-0 lead.
  • Two minutes later, the Orange and Brown doubled their lead off on graduate Ethan Scardina's sixth goal of the season on the power-play. Junior Jaden Grant passed it across to Doran in the slot. Doran passed it back to Grant. Grant took an initial shot that was saved. Scardina collected the rebound and quickly put it in under the bar.
  • Much like game one of the Mason Cup Quarterfinals, neither team was able to add a goal in the second period with the Falcons outshooting the Huskies 9 to 7.
  • BGSU added a goal to the lead at 8:40 in the third period to make it a three-goal game. Grant fought for the puck along the board with a Huskies player. Grant hit it out to freshman Maxwell Martin. Martin took the puck around the net for a wrap around. The initial shot was saved but the rebound came right back to Martin and shot it over the Michigan Tech goaltender to give BGSU a 3-0 lead.
  • Bowling Green added the insurance goal on an empty netter at 15:38 in the third period, for Doran's third point of the night and Scardina's second.
