Bowling Green Volleyball Announces 2025 MAC Schedule
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference and the Bowling Green State University volleyball team has announced the conference schedule for the 2025 season, unveiling the slate of matches Tuesday morning (April 1). BGSU's full schedule will be released at a later date.
The Falcons are scheduled for 18 MAC contests with nine home and nine away. Bowling Green is also paired with an annual travel partner, Toledo, playing a home-and-home season series with the Rockets each season. BGSU's first MAC match is set for Sept. 25, marking the first home conference match of the season as well. Bowling Green will also serve as the host of the MAC Volleyball Tournament this year with host selection reverting back to the rule that the previous season's regular season winner will host.
Ticket Information
Ticket information for the 2025 campaign will be released at a later date. Questions can be answered by calling the Ticket Office at 419-372-0000, or stopping by the Stroh Center. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
BGSU Volleyball Schedule Information
Conference competition for the Falcons will open on Thursday, Sept. 25 at home for the Falcons, starting with a split series. The first match will feature BGSU hosting the Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 25 before transitioning to hosting Kent State on Friday, Sept. 26, marking the only matches against each team for the Falcons during the regular season.
The first road MAC matches will follow the next weekend with another split weekend series for the Falcons. Bowling Green will begin on Friday, Oct. 3 against Eastern Michigan before taking the trip further north to Central Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 4. From there, the Orange and Brown will have a quick turnaround to their first conference midweek matchup, heading to Savage Arena for the Battle of I-75 on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The quick turnarounds will continue for the Falcons after the match against the rival Rockets, starting a four-match homestand. The homestand for BGSU will start on Thursday, Oct. 9 with Northern Illinois, facing the Huskies again on Friday, Oct. 10. The following week will have a similar sequence, facing Ball State on both Thursday and Friday (Oct. 16-17) at the Stroh Center.
The Falcons will head back on the road on Oct. 24 and 25 for two games against Western Michigan before returning back home to the Stroh Center for a midweek. On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Falcons will host the second leg of the season's Battle of I-75.
The 2025 regular season will wrap up with alternating home and away weekends, beginning on the road at Miami (OH) on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. BGSU will be home for the final time during the regular season on Nov. 7-8, hosting Akron, before wrapping up the regular season on the road at Buffalo on Nov. 14-15.

- BGVB Announces Addition Of Carter, Wharton As Assistant CoachesBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Bowling Green State University head volleyball coach Alex DelPiombo announced two hirings to her staff for the Orange and Brown. DelPiombo and the Falcons will welcome Chelsi Carter and Alexa Wharton as assistant coaches. Carter will arrive in Bowling Green from Alabama as an assistant while Wharton comes from Tiffin University where she served as the program's head coach for the past two seasons.

Head men's basketball coach Todd Simon will leadoff this week followed by head women's basketball coach Fred Chmiel and the newly named head volleyball coach Alex DelPiombo. The show will begin at 6 p.m. inside Fricker's where fans can watch live.

- Falcons Land Seven On Academic All-MAC TeamCLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced Monday morning (Dec. 30) the 2024 Volleyball Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 83 student-athletes were named across the conference with Bowling Green totaling seven. Ball State led the way in the MAC with 10, followed closely by Western Michigan's nine and Toledo's eight. The Falcons were one of six teams in the MAC with seven honorees. Bowling Green has now had at least seven student-athletes named Academic All-MAC in each of the last nine seasons.
- Alex DelPiombo Elevated to Head Coach of the Falcon Volleyball ProgramBOWLING GREEN, Ohio - BGSU Director of Athletics Derek van der Merwe has announced the promotion of associate head coach Alex DelPiombo to become the fifth head coach in program history. DelPiombo spent nine years on Danijela Tomic's BGSU staff.
- Danijela Tomic Leaves BGSU to Lead the Cincinnati Bearcats Volleyball ProgramBOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University (BGSU) volleyball head coach Danijela Tomic has been hired for the same position at the University of Cincinnati. Tomic departs BGSU as the program's second-winningest coach, amassing a 236-161 record and a program-best seven Mid-American Conference (MAC) championships. Her .594 winning percentage is the highest in the 49-year history of the program.
