Bowling Green Volleyball Completes 2025 Schedule With Non-Conference Slate
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team has announced the non-conference schedule for the 2025 season, unveiling the slate of matches on Thursday morning (June 26). Tickets for the entirety of the 2025 season, both season and single-game, are on-sale and available for purchase. The Falcons have led the MAC in attendance each of the last two seasons and have been in the top two in average attendance for seven straight seasons, excluding the COVID year.
The Falcons are scheduled for a total of 30 matches over the course of the season with 10 home matches on the 2025 slate. During the course of the season, the Falcons will take on five different teams that appeared in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, including four that advanced to the second round or further and three that finished last season inside the Top 25 in the nation.
The home opener for the Orange and Brown will be on Sept. 17 against Oakland with a 6 p.m. first serve. Following the regular season, Bowling Green will serve as the host for the 2025 MAC Volleyball Tournament, currently scheduled for Nov. 21-23. Ticket Information
All forms and variations of tickets are now on-sale for BGSU Volleyball's 2025 campaign and can be purchased here Volleyball | Bowling Green State University. Questions can be answered by calling the Ticket Office at 419-372-0000, or stopping by the Stroh Center. The Ticket Office is open Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
BGSU Volleyball Non-Conference Schedule Information
The season for the Falcons will begin with an exhibition match at home on Saturday, Aug. 23. BGSU will host Youngstown State in the exhibition at 1 p.m. before kicking off the regular season on the road at North Dakota State. The Falcons' season opener will be a neutral site match at NDSU, taking on Temple on Aug. 29 with a 2 p.m. EST first serve. The first true road match for BGSU will be later that day against the host-Bison with a 7 p.m. EST start, playing a doubleheader to start the season. The time in North Dakota will conclude on Aug. 30 against St. Mary's with a 12 p.m. EST first serve, taking place at North Dakota.
After the weekend at NDSU, Bowling Green will quickly transition to a set of midweek opponents at Purdue. Beginning on Sept. 3, the Falcons will have three days straight of not only 2024 NCAA Tournament participants, but teams that advanced to the second round or further. The first match for BGSU will be against Kansas at 3 p.m. In 2024, the Jayhawks went 25-5, entered the NCAA Tournament as a No. 3 seed and finished the season ranked No. 12 in the nation. The tournament for BGSU continues on Sept. 4 against host-Purdue at 7 p.m. The 2024 iteration of the Boilermakers advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament as a No. 4 seed, finishing the season 27-7 and ranked No. 9 in the country. The week in West Lafayette for Bowling Green will conclude on Sept. 5 against Georgia Tech at 3 p.m. Last year, the Yellow Jackets made the second round of the NCAA Tournament as a No. 7 seed, concluding the season 21-10 and as the No. 22 team in the nation.
From there, the Falcons will transition to an invitational hosted by Loyola Chicago, starting on Sept. 11 at 4 p.m. EST against Indiana. The invite will continue for the Orange and Brown against Stephen F. Austin on Sept. 12 at 3 p.m. EST. In 2024, the Jacks went 24-9 on the season while being 14-2 in conference play. Like the Falcons, SFA appeared in the 2024 NIVC, falling in the second round to Arkansas State in five sets. Bowling Green concludes the Loyola Chicago trip against the host-Ramblers, marking the fourth opponent for BGSU to make at least the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Falcons and Ramblers are set for a 3 p.m. EST first serve on Sept. 13. Last year, Loyola Chicago went 22-12 overall while being 13-5 within the Atlantic 10 on their way to an A-10 championship.
Following the Loyola Chicago invite, the Falcons will return home for the official home opener for the 2025 season. The Orange and Brown will welcome Oakland to the Stroh Center on Sept. 17 for a 6 p.m. start. The non-conference schedule will then conclude with a pair of matches in East Lansing, Mich. BGSU will face Michigan State on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. before taking on Binghamton on Sept. 20 at 4 p.m. A season ago, the Bearcats went 19-11, but saw their season come to an end in the NIVC against Bowling Green.
BGSU Volleyball MAC Schedule Information
Conference competition for the Falcons will open on Thursday, Sept. 25 at home for the Falcons, starting with a split series. The first match will feature BGSU hosting the Ohio Bobcats on Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. before transitioning to hosting Kent State on Friday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. as well, marking the only matches against each team for the Falcons during the regular season.
The first road MAC matches will follow the next weekend with another split weekend series for the Falcons. Bowling Green will begin on Friday, Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. against Eastern Michigan before taking the trip further north to Central Michigan on Saturday, Oct. 4 with a 4 p.m. start. From there, the Orange and Brown will have a quick turnaround to their first conference midweek matchup, heading to Savage Arena for the Battle of I-75 on Tuesday, Oct. 7 for a 6 p.m. first serve.
The quick turnarounds will continue for the Falcons after the match against the rival Rockets, starting a four-match homestand. The homestand for BGSU will start on Thursday, Oct. 9 with Northern Illinois, facing the Huskies again on Friday, Oct. 10, both set for 6 p.m. starts. The following week will have a similar sequence, facing Ball State on both Thursday and Friday (Oct. 16-17) at the Stroh Center, also with 6 p.m. starts.
The Falcons will head back on the road on Oct. 24 and 25 for two games against Western Michigan, playing at 6 p.m. on the 24th and 4 p.m. on the 25th before returning back home to the Stroh Center for a midweek. On Tuesday, Oct. 28, the Falcons will host the second leg of the season's Battle of I-75 with a 6 p.m. first serve.
The 2025 regular season will wrap up with alternating home and away weekends, beginning on the road at Miami (OH) on Oct. 31 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. BGSU will be home for the final time during the regular season on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 8 at 4 p.m., hosting Akron for both, before wrapping up the regular season on the road at Buffalo on Nov. 14-15 with a 6 p.m. start on Nov. 14 and a 4 p.m. first serve on Nov. 15.

- BGVB Logs Program’s 400th MAC Win With Sweep Over CMUMOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team continued their winning ways on Saturday (Oct. 4) with a 3-0 sweep over Central Michigan in Mount Pleasant. The Chippewas kept each set close with all three settled by three points or fewer, but the Falcons were able to stay in front for the win. For Bowling Green, the win gives them a 4-0 start in MAC play for the fifth time in the last six seasons while also going down as the program's 400th MAC win all-time. Winners in eight of their last nine, BGSU will now transition to a midweek contest against Toledo, who is also undefeated in MAC play, on Tuesday (Oct. 7).
- Falcons’ Full Team Effort Earns Five-Set Victory Over Eastern MichiganYPSILANTI, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University volleyball team went the distance with Eastern Michigan Friday night (Oct. 3), picking up a thrilling five-set victory over the Eagles. Bowling Green took the first set, but Eastern Michigan pushed ahead with the second and third. BGSU forced a fifth set before claiming the match with a 15-13 fifth set score. The Falcons hit over .360 in each set they won and utilized a team-effort across the board for the win. With the victory, Bowling Green moves to 3-0 in the MAC with wins in seven of their last eight and extends a 12-match regular season road MAC winning streak that dates back to Nov. 3, 2023.

The weekend will begin for the Orange and Brown on Friday (Oct. 3) with a 6 p.m. first serve against Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti. From there, the Falcons will transition a bit further north to Mount Pleasant, facing Central Michigan on Saturday (Oct. 4) at 4 p.m. Both matches will be available to watch on ESPN+ with radio streams available from BG Falcon Media.
- Helen Wilford Named MAC Defensive Player Of The WeekCLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference announced the MAC Players of the Week Monday afternoon (Sept. 29). Of those named, Bowling Green's Helen Wilford was named the Defensive Player of the Week. For Wilford, this is her first MAC weekly award of the season as well as her career. As for the team, Wilford is the fourth different Falcon this season to be named a MAC Player of the Week and the first to earn a Defensive Player of the Week honor.
