- All dayEquine Group Therapy - FREE for all BGSU students!The Counseling Center is combining group therapy with the healing touch of horses – in partnership with Project H.O.P.E.Have you ever wanted to work with horses or miss working with them while you are studying at BGSU? Do you enjoy learning by doing? Are you seeking alternatives to talk therapy? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, this program might be the right fit for you!The Equine Therapy Group is a free opportunity for ALL BGSU STUDENTS! However, space is limited, and a screening appointment with the Counseling Center must be completed prior to the program start date to participate.What you need to know:Three groups made up of 6 students each will meet for this 6-week program at an off-campus location in the city of Bowling Green.Group 1 will meet on Tuesdays from 12:30-1:45 p.m. starting on Sept. 9.Group 2 will meet on Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. starting on Sept. 25.Group 3 will meet on Thursdays from 10:30-11:45 a.m. starting on Oct. 17.How to participate:1. (fraternities and sororities)The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a collaborative organization composed of nine historically Black Greek-letter organizations (BGLOs) or sororities and fraternities. NPHC was founded in 1930 at Howard University in Washington, D.C., with the purpose of fostering unity and cooperation among its member organizations and advocating for the interests of Black college students. To learn more about NPHC, fill out the intent to join form.The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is an umbrella organization for nine historically black, inter/national Greek-lettered organizations that evolved during a period when African-Americans were being denied essential rights and privileges afforded to other college students. Today, the primary purpose and focus of member organizations remains community awareness and action through educational, economic, and cultural service activities. The individual member is also expected to align with a graduate and/or alumni chapter, following graduation from college to perpetuate the purpose of the council and their individual organizations.
- 8:00 AM9hPOW/MIA TABLEStudent Veterans of America would perform the ceremony and place the POW/MIA table in the Student Union. After the ceremony the table would be up from September 16 at 8:00am to September 20 at 5:00pm. This would allow our organization and the university as a whole to honor those who never had the opportunity to come home. We will have a dedication at 12:30 on September 16 to tell the story of the meaning behind the table, and perhaps hear a few words from President Rogers.Learn more about this event and its importance
- 10:00 AM3hWar on HungerBGSU's SVA chapter will be conducting a food drive. On September 14, we will be passing our flyers stating who we are, what we are doing, and directions on leaving food for pickup. On September 21, we will be picking up any food left by residents for our food drive and transporting it to a local food pantry. Our goal this year is to reach out more to the community and this is one of our ways of doing that. Many veterans live in poverty and rely on food pantries.
