BGSU Swimming Takes on Barry and Simon Fraser in Sunshine State Tri-Meet to Open New Year
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The BGSU swim team will ring in the new year in warm and sunny Florida where they will take on host Barry University and Simon Fraser University from British Columbia in Canada in a tri-meet on Sunday, January 5 at 11 a.m.
The event will take place at the Miami Country Day Aquatic Center, an outdoor venue, in Miami Shores, Florida, which is Barry's home pool. The Buccaneers and Red Leafs are both Division II schools competing in the Sunshine State and the Great Northwest Athletic Conferences, respectfully.
Currently, BGSU is on their training trip in the Sunshine State and are doing their training activities in the Orlando area before heading south for the tri-meet. No diving events will take place.
The Falcons last competed in Florida two years ago at FIU's Sprint Invitational.

Fun Facts
Former Cleveland Guardians catcher Yan Gomes played one season at Barry before being drafted in 2009. Also, four-time NBA champion Shaquille O'Neal earned a Doctor of Education in Human Resource Development from Barry in 2012. Additionally, Simon Fraser is the only Canadian school in the NCAA.
