BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green Hockey Alumni Dan Sexton and David Solway will pay for BGSU student tickets for the CCHA Mason Cup Quarterfinals starting on Friday night against Michigan Tech.

"Dan Sexton and David Solway were integral pieces as players here when they played for Bowling Green", said Head Coach Dennis Williams. "I was fortunate enough to have coached them both, and it's fantastic to see them continuing their involvement with our program and sponsoring tickets for our students this coming weekend. It says a lot about their care for the program, and it's great to have those type of alumni in your corner.  I'm personally very grateful for their generosity."

The two former teammates at BGSU had successful careers in their time at Bowling Green and into professional hockey.

Over his four-year Falcon career, Solway played in 146 games, missing only five games due to injury over that time. He finished his college playing career with 31 goals, 42 assists and 73 points, hit five game-winning goals and served 174 penalty minutes.  His senior year he was named team captain and played professionally for the Toledo Walleye.

Sexton played at BGSU from 2007-2009, playing in 76 games and recording 24 goals and 60 points in his NCAA career.  He left college when he was signed by the Anaheim Ducks, playing there for 2 seasons.  Sexton went on to play nine years in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) with Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk and Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg, and finished his hockey career with the Växjö Lakers of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL).

BGSU students can claim their free ticket for the weekend's games by logging into their BGSU ticket account.  Questions can be directed to 419-372-0000.

Bowling Green is the No. 4 seed for the CCHA Mason Cup Playoffs and will host No.5 Michigan Tech at 7:07 pm on Friday and Saturday, and if needed on Sunday at 5:07 pm. The winner of the best-of-three series will advance to the CCHA Mason Cup Semifinals on March 15th.
